ASAmed Studio Showcase ... On Wheels!!!!!!!!!
Help us elevate the dance by elevating the performing area!
Just imagine our dancers "floating" down the parade route ...
BUT FIRST WE HAVE TO RAISE THE MONEY!
A small float 8'w x 12'l costs $2970. Our plan is to have dancers on the float as well as the street;
we are negotiating to have parade stops where dancers can exchange places to give everyone a chance on the float.
Never since the inception of ASAmed in 1999 have we solicited donations from our supporters.
Our annual Studio Showcase raises enough funds to keep the website going and does so through the
willingness of our community members to donate of their time and talent.
We charge no membership fees, provide a free dance name registry and listings in our directories are
an unbelievably low one time fee.

In the 19th century, ballroom dancing was deemed devil's work. In the 1920's, New York City enacted the Cabaret Law to stem interracial dancing from Harlem Jazz Clubs. The 1930's had Nazi Germany quashing Swing Dancing because it was considered anarchistic. And just last year, a State Supreme Court ruled that unlike music, theater and painting, dance is not a constitutionally protected form of expression. In contrast, Dance Parade will highlight the diversity found in its many forms and showcase dance's immense cultural and communicative importance.
